Medical Billing Analyst
Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Analyst to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is in the non-profit industry and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. As a Medical Billing Analyst, you will be responsible for handling medical billing, claims, collections and working with accounting software systems. Responsibilities • Work with various accounting software systems to manage customer billing information • Handle medical billing, claims, and collections efficiently • Use Cerner Technologies and Dynamic Data Exchange for data management and processing • Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and take necessary actions • Leverage skills in Allscripts, EHR SYSTEM, and Accounts Receivable (AR) for operational tasks • Handle appeals, authorizations, benefit functions, and billing functions effectively • Oversee accounting control and accounting functions to ensure financial health • Utilize Excel Formulas for data analysis and reporting • Work in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment, adhering to its rules and regulations • Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required • Experience with Allscripts and Cerner Technologies is preferred • Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) is desirable • Understanding of EHR SYSTEM is important • Demonstrable skills in Accounts Receivable (AR) management • Experience in handling Appeals and Authorizations is necessary • Knowledge of Benefit Functions and Billing Functions is essential • Ability to perform Accounting Control tasks efficiently • Proficiency in various Accounting Functions • Advanced skills in Excel Formulas are needed • Prior experience in the Non-Profit sector is a plus • Medical billing experience is strongly preferred • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is advantageous • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required • Ability to work independently and in a team • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Attention to detail and accuracy in work • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly • Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the job • Flexibility to adapt to changing work demands and deadlines.
