Medical Billing Assistant
Summary: Are you detail-oriented and passionate about healthcare? Join our team as a Medical Billing Assistant! In this role, you'll ensure full reimbursement for clinical services, including professional, long-term/home care, and hospital care. You'll manage receivables, resolve edits, and ensure accurate claims are sent to primary and secondary insurances. Your work will involve researching and resolving denials and payer requests promptly and accurately to secure payment. Be part of a team that continually seeks to improve complex business processes. Key Responsibilities: + Work with the billing team on back-office and verification tasks. + Use Excel extensively to process new information through patient accounts. + Identify and resolve missing information by reaching out to current patients. + Process paper reports into the system when updates are needed. + Submit corrected claims and appeals. + Document actions appropriately and follow up with payers to ensure promised actions are taken. + Participate in team meetings to review new procedures, denial types, and system updates. + Report problems and patterns to the supervisor to keep policies and procedures up to date. + Acquire and maintain knowledge of system terminology, claim/denial/coverage concepts, and relevant HIPAA privacy rules. + Coordinate resolution with Customer Service staff. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
