Medical Billing Specialist
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist based in Dallas, Texas. The individual will be a part of our healthcare industry team, focusing on maintaining and enhancing the financial health of our organization by managing customer accounts and resolving customer inquiries. Responsibilities: • Timely processing of all billing for Meals on Wheels programs and ensuring any issues are resolved for future implementations. • Coordinating with staff and state case managers for timely collections of all Meals on Wheels accounts. • Following up on missing authorizations, billing issues, and appeals. • Reviewing and addressing issues related to LTC accounts with the Director of Reimbursement. • Writing off bad debts pertaining to LTC patient accounts and reviewing credit balance reports. • Assisting team members in the Reimbursement Department to perform their job duties. • Recommending and implementing changes in the working area to ensure smooth functioning of job duties. • Processing all invoices for Dallas County Congregate Senior Centers, Special Venues, and Self Pay accounts. • Serving as a back-up to other Reimbursement Department team members as needed. • Using skills in Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, Epaces, Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, 10 Key Skills, 10 - Key Accounting, Collections, Billing, Billing Collection, Medicare Billing, and Medicaid Billing. Requirements • Proficiency in Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces. • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration. • Demonstrated skills in 10 Key Skills and 10 - Key Accounting. • Experience in Collections, Billing, and Billing Collection. • Familiarity with Medicare Billing and Medicaid Billing. • Solid knowledge and experience in medical billing and coding procedures. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, medical professionals, insurance companies, and fellow staff. • Proficient in using computer software and technology for medical billing. • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
