Medical Billing Specialist
Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role involves handling medical billing and collection practices, maintaining patient records, and resolving inquiries. The position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity and is primarily focused on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medical billing procedures. Responsibilities: • Ensure consistency in the execution of medical billing procedures. • Maintain a strong knowledge of insurance and reimbursement processes. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. • Utilize various software such as Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces to process and track customer credit applications. • Handle and resolve customer inquiries related to Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration. • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. • Manage and maintain accurate customer credit records. • Work onsite and adhere to the working hours set by the team. • Perform other duties as assigned or directed. Requirements • Demonstrated experience with Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration. • Ability to accurately process medical billing information and ensure timely payment. • Strong understanding of medical billing regulations and standards. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple billing tasks simultaneously. • Attention to detail to ensure billing accuracy and identification of any inconsistencies or errors. • Experience in maintaining and updating patient records in accordance with privacy regulations. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet billing targets. • Commitment to continuous learning to stay updated with changes in medical billing procedures and technologies.
