Description Robert Half is currently partnering with a Minneapolis based healthcare client who is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a long term contract employment opportunity. In this role, you will work closely with a team of Medical Billers who work with commercial, Medicare and Medicaid billing. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to the full revenue cycle and have very strong attention to detail and communication skills. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently process patient's insurance claims in line with relevant laws and medical coding procedures • Maintain precise records of patient billing • Resolve any billing or payment discrepancies that may arise • Regularly update and maintain billing software with any changes in rates • Utilize paperless billing methods and perform data entry tasks where necessary • Handle the setup of payment plans for patients and work on collection accounts • Review treatment records to calculate patient charges and verify payments • Prepare and manage invoices and billing reports Requirements • 3+ years of prior medical billing experience. • Exposure to the full revenue cycle is highly desired. • Proficiency working with electronic health records. • Exceptionist communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to do complex research to determine why a data discrepancy exists. • Proficiency with medical billing software such as Epic, Credible, Epaces, etc. • Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE). • Demonstrated ability to handle appeals effectively. • Understanding of Benefit Functions within the healthcare industry. • Experience in handling Billing Functions in a healthcare setting. • Skill in Claim Administration and management.
