Description We are looking for a meticulous and well-organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in San Francisco, California. As a Medical Billing Specialist, your primary role will be to manage our accounts receivable follow-up procedures, ensure the accuracy of medical billing, and handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally. Responsibilities: • Oversee the processing of medical claims via the EPIC system. • Handle denied claims, identify the cause of denial, and execute the necessary measures. • Correct and resubmit claims as required. • Scrutinize insurance guidelines to guarantee precise billing and payment. • Evaluate claims for underpayments and implement necessary actions. • Provide support for various billing and accounting duties. • Utilize Excel Formulas to maintain accurate customer credit records. • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on Revenue Cycle Processes. • Ensure efficient and accurate processing of customer credit applications. • Resolve customer inquiries professionally and in a timely manner. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Medical Billing Specialist role or similar capacity. • Proficiency in using Epic Hospital Billing software. • Advanced knowledge and application of Excel Formulas. • Deep understanding of Revenue Cycle Processes in a healthcare setting. • Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively. • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare professionals. • Proven track record of improving efficiency and accuracy in billing processes. • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or related field is preferred. • Certification in Medical Billing or Coding from a recognized institution would be an advantage.
