Description We are in search of a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in the Healthcare and Social Assistance industry, based in Sterling, Virginia. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity, where you will be primarily responsible for handling medical billing and collections tasks. You will also be expected to follow up on medical claims, clients, and insurance, and utilize software like Next Tech Select and Microsoft Office. Responsibilities: • Administer and process medical billing functions accurately and efficiently. • Keep up-to-date and accurate records of customer credit. • Monitor customer accounts regularly and take necessary action. • Follow up on medical claims and insurance matters. • Manage client inquiries and resolve them promptly. • Utilize Microsoft Office and billing software like Next Tech Select for everyday tasks. • Handle tasks related to Accounts Receivable (AR) and appeals. • Maintain a consistent workflow in a hybrid work environment. Requirements • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry. • Proficient in Accounts Receivable (AR) operations and management. • Demonstrated ability in handling Appeals in a medical billing context. • Solid understanding and practical experience of Billing Functions in the healthcare industry. • Proven experience in Claim Administration, ensuring accurate and timely processing. • Strong knowledge and experience in Medical Billing procedures and regulations. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, to efficiently manage and analyze data. • Experience with Billing software, with the ability to quickly learn new systems as required.
