Center for Advanced Gastroenterology, a Covenant Physician Partner, is hiring a Fulltime Call Center Representative in Maitland, Florida.

About the Opportunity 

Under the day to day general direction of the Center Supervisor and Practice Manager, this position handles and routes all incoming calls, and greets patients and patient families, registers patients, updates patient portal, insurance verification as needed, cash collections and the correct handling of patient charts, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Is part of a rotating schedule to include the call center, check in and check out, medical records, referrals and authorizations. The primary position to be discussed during interview process. Receives patients and visitors and provides assistance in scheduling appointments, patient registration, medical chart maintenance and the coordination of patient referrals / authorizations. Coordinates and schedules appointments for clinic and surgical patients. Obtains referral and authorizations for office visits and surgical procedures. Obtains and tracks name, telephone, email, fax of referral coordinators. Adheres to obtaining referrals and authorizations within 24 - 72 hours. Advises patient at time of scheduling of our office processes to include the collection of past outstanding balances, co-pays, deductibles are due upon check in, etc. Collects all balances at time of service to include, co-pays, deductibles, prior balances, no show fees, surgical fees, etc. 

About the Candidate

High school education or equivalent is required. College education is preferred. 2+ years of healthcare experience is required. Experience with EHR/ EMR is required. Prior experience with insurance verification / authorizations is required. Fluency in both English / Spanish language is strongly preferred. Written and Verbal.
