Description We are seeking a meticulous Medical Coder to strengthen our team in the healthcare sector. As a Medical Coder, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing and coding medical claims, ensuring precision and compliance with industry standards. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Review detail-oriented charge reencounters as part of the integrated revenue cycle. • Handle both detail-oriented and facility claims through an integrated workflow. • Specialize in GI and Cardiology coding, adjusting to changes in abstract functions that drive both workflows. • Perform procedure coding as required, with a preference for detail-oriented GI or Cardiology coding. • Assume responsibility for Radiology diagnostic coding. • Operate within Pacific Time hours. • Act as a Data Control Specialist, overseeing data accuracy and compliance. • Undertake facility coding tasks, with potential focus on outpatient surgery coding. • Utilize skills in Cerner Technologies, Auditing, and Medical Coding to ensure optimal performance. Requirements • Possession of a recognized qualification in Medical Coding. • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within the Healthcare/NHS industry. • Proficient in Cerner Technologies. • Strong ability to perform medical auditing tasks accurately and efficiently. • Deep understanding of medical coding principles and regulations. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all patient data privacy requirements. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding medical information. • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret medical records. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. • Willingness to stay updated with changes in coding standards and healthcare regulations.
