Medical Collections Specialist
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Collections Specialist in the healthcare industry, located in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The workplace is fast-paced and requires a high level of organization and meticulous attention to detail. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications related to medical insurance collections. • Maintain precise records of customer credit information. • Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and meticulous manner. • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. • Conduct follow-ups with insurance companies to ensure the collection of outstanding payments. • Communicate with patients to gather any missing information if required. • Utilize the Advanced MD accounting system for various tasks. • Keep track of Billing & Medical Collections. • Engage in the collection processes and ensure the collection of payments. • Handle appeals, authorizations, and billing functions. • Understand and work with healthcare revenue cycle and reimbursement processes. • Utilize skills in accounting software systems, Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), and EHR SYSTEM. • Ensure smooth functioning of accounts receivable (AR) and cash collections. • Knowledge of healthcare industry practices, healthcare insurance, and billing collection are essential. Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems • Familiarity with Allscripts and Cerner Technologies • Knowledge of Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) • Experience with EHR SYSTEM • Ability to manage Accounts Receivable (AR) • Skills in handling Appeals and Authorizations • Understanding of Benefit Functions and Billing Functions • Experience in Billing Collection and Cash Collections • Ability to Collect Outstanding dues and payments • Experience in Collecting Payments from clients • Familiarity with Collection Processes • Knowledge of the HealthCare Industry • Understanding of HealthCare Insurance policies • Experience with HealthCare Reimbursement procedures • Knowledge of HealthCare Revenue Cycle Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
