Medical Customer Service Rep
Description We are offering a contract to hire Medical Customer Service Rep in the Healthcare and Social Assistance industry, based in Dallas, Texas. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing customer inquiries, maintaining customer accounts, and processing customer applications with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities: • Manage inbound calls from patients regarding their account balance and statements • Facilitate the establishment of patient payment plans • Verify patient insurance online and update the information as necessary • Process patient payments and maintain accurate records • Assist in medical billing and coding activities • Handle a high volume of calls and manage communication with distressed patients • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations • Exhibit empathy and active listening skills when interacting with patients • Demonstrate adaptability and receptiveness to constructive feedback • Deliver superior customer service in line with industry standards • Utilize various computer programs and Microsoft Office Suites for daily tasks • Update patient demographics and file insurance documents accordingly • Maintain patient collections and address patient concerns promptly • Conduct insurance follow-ups and post payments or refunds as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in various computer programs relevant to the healthcare industry • Experience in answering inbound calls in a high-volume environment • Ability to handle authorizations in a medical setting • Understanding of benefit functions within the healthcare sector • Familiarity with billing functions in a medical context • Prior experience in a call center customer service role • Basic knowledge of medical terminology • Experience with medical billing procedures • Knowledge of medical claims and medical coding • Experience in medical collections • Comfortable contacting patients regarding various issues • Ability to manage patient balance inquiries and issues • Experience with patient collections • Ability to address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism • Experience handling patient complaints effectively • Familiarity with processing patient payments • Prior experience in a call center environment • Experience in an inbound call center would be advantageous • Previous call center experience in the healthcare industry is desirable • Prior call center experience in a medical setting is a plus • Excellent customer service skills • Superior customer service skills are highly valued • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
