Responsibilities
This is a remote position however candidates located in TN or KY are preferred.
The Clinical Engineering Medical Device Security Engineer will be a key member of our Clinical Engineering Medical Device Security Team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the security posture of CommonSpirit Health's medical devices, networks, and information. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to patient safety. You will leverage the latest technologies and testing methodologies to ensure robust security measures are implemented throughout the medical device lifecycle.
Design, develop, configure, and implement solutions to resolve technical and business issues (low to medium complexity) related to medical device security. Successfully integrate medical device security systems and tools into the existing environment. Maintain and potentially design/develop tools or systems to improve security or business processes. Test configurations and deploy risk mitigation strategies in known environments. Prepare and document detailed guidance for system configuration and risk mitigation. Detect and identify vulnerabilities in devices or systems. Maintain thorough documentation and complete backups. Resolve technical challenges and provide support to field technicians. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to team members.Track and report project status through completionQualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business discipline or equivalent professional experience.1-3 years experience working in healthcare/IT Security, System Administration, Software Development or related field.1-2 years experience working in a healthcare/medical environment, as a Biomedical Technician preferredExperience working with specialized medical equipment in a healthcare setting.Experience with HIPAA/HITECH compliance standards.Knowledge of information networking principles and best practices as it relates to medical devices.Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, organize, coordinate, and execute activities.Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities.Ability to analyze complex issues, develop effective solutions and solve problems.Requires ability to apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis / solution generation process.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to management, team members, and business and technology professionals.Strong coaching, mentoring, training, facilitation and presentation skills.Appetite for continuous learning of new skills that add value to projects and assignments.Ability to deliver results on time and within budget.Requires ability to develop good working relationships with business sponsors, business partners and technical staff.Requires a high level of expertise in a variety of systems and business areas.Requires continuous learning of new skills that add value to projects and assignments.Preferred:
