Medical Director, NACE
Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Medical Director to join the National Association for Continuing Education (NACE) medical affairs team. This position is located in our Sunrise, Florida office, with a hybrid schedule. This position can also be fully remote.
Job Overview:
The Medical Director will be responsible for the development of medical education grant strategy based on identification of areas of educational need for healthcare professionals and availability of potential grant opportunities within specified therapeutic areas. Skills required include a healthcare/science background, educational design, medical writing, grant and content development.
Responsibilities:
Work with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), scientific team, business development (BD) team, and other internal stakeholders to define grant strategy and identifying potential grant development opportunities across therapeutic areas
Assist the CMO and BD team in achieving annual revenue goals
Analyze outcomes and survey data to generate supporter reports, needs data, abstracts and presentations for industry meetings and publications
Work with the CMO, BD team, faculty, and external partners and writers (as applicable) to develop winning proposals; assisting in developing needs assessments and collaborating with internal teams and external advisors and partners in designing, planning, and implementing multi-format educational initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with supporters as appropriate, in collaboration with the BD team, and in compliance with existing rules and regulations; includes determining available funding, following up with grantors on submitted requests; providing status updates and reports, and reporting and/or working with appropriate education team members to resolve supporter related issues.
Work with operations team to meet timelines and goals for the development and execution of high quality, non-biased, evidence-based CME/CE programs; includes content development and supervision of internal support staff, freelancers/contractors for content development, identification of, and liaison with, faculty, inclusion of critical data and guidelines
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders in a variety of medical fields.
Attend national conferences and other medical or CME industry meetings as needed.
Skills and Requirements:
At least 5-7 years’ experience working in CME
MS in a science or MD/DO/NP/PA, RPh/PharmD, or PhD preferred
Experience developing content for primary care and specialist audiences; cardiometabolic health, gastroenterology, oncology focus highly desirable
Strong writing and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
Existing relationships with key opinion leaders preferred
Preference for in-office position, although partial of full-time remote candidates will be considered
Knowledge of adult learning principles and educational design
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively, efficiently, positively and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization
Ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Ability to think creatively/strategically and generate new ideas, a team player with positive attitude, enthusiastic energy and ability to have fun with team members

The salary range for this position is $130,000–$165,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.
