The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Divisions of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine are seeking a BC/BE pediatric pain fellowship-trained physician to join a growing multidisciplinary practice at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The University of Pittsburgh-affiliated position presents a great opportunity to provide direct patient care (amount to be determined by Chief Pediatric Anesthesiologist & Vice Chair, Pain Medicine) in a state-of-the-art outpatient facility, pursue research interests, and lead the future direction of the pediatric chronic pain program. The ideal candidate will be Board-Certified/Board-Eligible in Anesthesiology, Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine to expand the Pediatric Chronic Pain Service. Experience in pediatric pain management highly preferred.
Opportunity Details:
• Will provide administrative oversight for the Pediatric Chronic Pain Service (inpatient and outpatient), and serve as a liaison between all pediatric units, division management, and the UPMC Children’s Hospital leadership.
• Lead collaborative efforts with clinical and administrative leadership across the UPMC Pediatric Service Line and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in leading the multidisciplinary pediatric chronic pain program.
• These programs are fully staffed with the necessary team for a state-of-the-art chronic pain program, including 2 physician partners, 2 advance practice providers, a pediatric-trained pain psychologist, multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, and other nursing/administrative support staff.

• This position carries with it a clinical appointment at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and a faculty appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

About the Division of Chronic Pain Medicine:
The UPMC Division of Chronic Pain Medicine is a program of comprehensive research, clinical, and educational components committed to the evaluation and treatment of the entire range of pain, disability, and rehabilitation concerns. The division offers an interdisciplinary team approach that includes dedicated professionals from several different specialties, including medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and psychology. This multidimensional treatment approach addresses the complex interaction between biological, psychological, and social factors in the perception and management of pain.
