Medical Director, PRTF & Residential Treatment

JOB SUMMARY : The Medical Director, Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) and Residential Treatment is responsible for ensuring that clients receive the highest possible quality of nursing care throughout their inpatient experience. Working directly with the Executive Leadership Team, under the supervision of the Director of Residential Services, the Medical Director builds policies, standard operating procedures, quality measures, and data collection systems to help achieve desired wellness outcomes for clients. Further, the Medical Director supervises the PRTF Nursing and Psychiatry team and collaborates, when necessary, with the Health Clinic and Wingspan Medical Director. Moreover, the Medical Director must operate the function within budgeted parameters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
+ Provide direct oversight and lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of the PRTF Nursing function, including the hiring, training, supervision, performance management, and termination of employees. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and administration on the establishment of a nursing team and its related clinical functions, schedule, and activities within the PRTF.
+ Provide administrative oversight of PRTF Psychiatry team, generating organizational efficiencies specific to the psychiatric team and function. As appropriate, determine improvements to structure, communication, scheduling components, and strategic priorities of the psychiatry team. Provide improvements to organizational efficiency tied to this function.
+ Directly support nursing activities within the PRTF including, but not limited to, nursing assessments, physical management, med-pass, and the ongoing maintenance of EMAR/Electronic Health Record documentation. Ensure the clinical model and nursing within the PRTF is reflective of best practices and supportive of clinical treatment goals for individuals staying within the PRTF.
+ Facilitate communication and collaboration among PRTF nursing staff and other departments, including the residential cottages and Health Clinic, to support the model of intended service provision within the PRTF.
+ Support the Healthcare Coordinator for residential clients, including, but not limited to, liaising with partner pharmacies and practitioners as well as scheduling necessary medical appointments.
+ Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to support the mission and model of the nursing function within the PRTF, Residential Services, and larger Agency.
+ Work with external stakeholders to guide clinical model, compliance elements and regulatory oversight of nursing activities within the PRTF. Serve as liaison to PRTF payer/s and regulators.
+ Act as a project manager for any key healthcare related projects, undertaking such responsibility as assigned by the Executive Director and Director of Residential Services.

+ Attend all required staff meetings.

+ Sensitivity to the racial, cultural and developmental backgrounds of individual students and the group as a whole.
+ Attend scheduled supervision and on-going training.
+ All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
+ Respect the privacy of students and hold in confidence all information obtained during the student’s treatment. All student-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
+ Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Education : Minimum Doctor of Medicine degree required.
+ Licensure : Valid Ohio APRN or MD license required.
+ Skills/Competencies :

+ Experience:
+ Previous experience operating at senior levels of healthcare administration required.
+ Project management experience strongly preferred.
+ Previous business management experience required.
+ Familiarity with psychiatry function at community behavioral health agencies preferred.
+ Experience with Medicaid service provision preferred.
+ Experience serving adolescent behavioral health needs strongly preferred.
