Job Summary: IAHD is looking for a Medical Director to provide medical oversight for our Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs). The position entails on-call support (Schedule TBD) as well as plan review and medical consultation for individuals in their homes. The Medical Director will work closely with the Director of Clinical Supports and the Director of Nursing to ensure that all OPWDD paperwork is completed in a timely manner. Qualifications Duties/Responsibilities: Provide medical oversight, guidance, and support for individuals with IDD residing in our Intermediate Care Facilities including but not limited to; + Review and sign off on the annual physician order for individuals + Conduct regular health assessments and evaluations. + Review and contribute to the development of individualized care plans. + Ongoing medical records review + Coordinate with external healthcare providers and specialists as needed. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and person-centered care. + Review and Sign off on annual level of care and care planning documentation + Completes level of care information for new admissions + Provide consultation and support to Director of Clinical Supports and the Director of Nursing regarding medical concerns and interventions. + Sign off on 24-hour licensed nursing care Stay informed about current trends and best practices in the field of IDD healthcare. Education and Experience: + Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. + Unrestricted medical license for the State of New York and DEA registration + Medical degree from an accredited university. + Experience with OPWDD regulations and providing care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred. + Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. + Understanding of person-centered care principles. + Strong interpersonal, oral, written communication, organizational and collaborative skills + US residency with current US work visa Physical Requirements: + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. + May require extended periods of standing, bending and moving. + Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times repeatedly if needed. + Must be able to travel throughout Westchester and Bronx Counties Job Type: 10 hours per week (flexible schedule, to be discussed during the interview process).
