Position Summary:WellLife Network Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experiencedMedical Directorto provide clinical leadership and oversight for itsIntellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), Mental Health, Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and Children’s Services. The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and the integration of evidence-based practices across all service areas. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong clinical background who can ensure the highest standards of care, compliance with regulations, and effective collaboration among multidisciplinary teams. This position will play a critical role in program development, staff training, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives to enhance outcomes for individuals served. The Medical Director will provide administrative oversight of medical professionals and participate actively in the executive leadership team. Essential Accountabilities: + Clinical Leadership & Oversight + Provide medical oversight for WellLife Network’s IDD, Mental Health, SUD, and Children’s Services programs. + Develop, implement, and refine evidence-based clinical protocols and treatment guidelines. + Ensure integrated and holistic care approaches that address the complex needs of individuals served. + Supervise and support medical staff, including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health professionals. + Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews to optimize treatment plans and improve patient outcomes. + Regulatory & Compliance Expertise + Ensure compliance with regulations issued by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH), Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), and other regulatory bodies. + Maintain adherence to HIPAA regulations and best practices in patient confidentiality. + Oversee credentialing and licensing for all medical and clinical staff. + Ensure adherence to accreditation standards and participate in audits and inspections as needed. + Program Management: + Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. + Monitor and evaluate program performance and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement. + Oversee the integration and coordination of care across different service lines. + Develop and implement resident care policies. + Manage mandate of AOT orders. + Review and authorize annual CFA evaluations for IDD individuals residing in ICF locations. + Conduct case reviews and provide clinical guidance for complex residential cases, including collaborating with treating psychiatrists and hospitals of residential clients. + Provide support to intake on high-risk case assessments for residential placements. + Write scripts to continue medications in the event of an emergency if a client has issues with their Medicaid coverage. 4.Leadership and Collaboration: + Participate in the executive leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes. + Foster a collaborative environment among clinical and administrative staff to enhance service delivery. + Represent WellLife Network in external meetings, conferences, and professional organizations. 5.Quality Improvement: + Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient and client care, safety, and satisfaction. + Implement evidence-based practices and protocols to ensure the effectiveness of clinical services. + Analyze data and metrics to drive continuous improvement efforts. 6.Training and Development: + Provide ongoing education and training for medical staff to keep them informed of current best practices and emerging trends in healthcare. + Mentor and develop clinical leaders within the organization. + Implement ongoing staff training programs to enhance clinical competencies. + Serve as a mentor to clinical staff, aligning with WellLife’s mentorship program. + Ensure that medical and clinical teams are up to date with the latest research and treatment methodologies. 7.Administrative Duties: + Develop and manage budgets for clinical services, ensuring efficient use of resources. + Oversee administrative functions related to clinical and medical services, including documentation, billing, and compliance. + Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. + Oversee infection control procedures and medical emergencies. + Advise on adherence toHIPAAand other patient privacy laws. 8.Collaboration & Community Partnerships + Work closely withexecutive leadership, program directors, and external stakeholders. + Strengthen relationships withhospitals, health systems, and community providersto enhance continuity of care. + Advocate for policies that supportmental health, substance use recovery, and IDD services. 9.Business & Financial Acumen + Overseemedical budgeting, cost management, and resource allocation. + Support grant writing and funding opportunities toexpand medical services. Qualifications + Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with board certification in psychiatry and subspecialty certification in Addiction Medicine and/or public psychiatry is a plus. + Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of New York. + Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or administrative role. + Experience in managing multiple service lines in one or more of the following: I/DD, mental health, substance use disorder, or children's services a plus. + Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement, and best practices in clinical care. + Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. + Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. + Commitment to the mission and values of WellLife Network. Work Environment:The Medical Director will work primarily in an office setting with regular interaction with clinical and administrative staff, as well as occasional travel to various program sites. + Potential to fill this position with one full time or two part time doctors. This is a hybrid position that will require 2-3 days on-site for full time position or 1 day on-site for part time position.
