Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a board certified/board eligible full time Medical Director for System Pediatric Surgical Services in Marietta, GA.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Participate in Pediatric Surgical initiatives strategic planning and implementation efforts for the WellStar Health System through participating in meetings and assist in preparing requested materials, to also include the Pediatric and Other Service Lines (Surgery, MSK, ENT) as necessary.
- Participate in the analysis of market research and the development of a plan or plans to address identified needs of the Pediatric Surgical Initiatives – OR block time/ Equipment, Anesthesia, Peri-op / Post -op needs.
- Assist in Pediatric Surgical Initiatives and strategic planning in connections with the System’s Five-Year Strategic Plan.
- Work with Physician Executive Leaders, CMAO, VPMA’s, Service Line Chiefs, Hospital Medical Staff Leadership, etc. to help coordinate, develop, and implement strategic planning initiatives and other matters relating to Patient Safety, Quality, and the Experience of Care.
- Model leadership related to patient care for Pediatric Surgical patients by understanding and utilizing contemporary pediatric surgical care, Sports Medicine & General Orthopedic care, ENT, Urological care guidelines as set forth by the American Academy of Pediatric surgeons.
- Manage and facilitate effective two-way communication between physicians and senior Hospital management on issues including, but not limited to, resources needed to satisfy Pediatric Surgical patients and procedures volumes, physician needs, concerns and strategic direction, quality standards and budget imperatives.
- Serve on a Pediatric and/or Surgical Service Line Oversight Committee, providing direction and oversight.
- Participate in review of and assist in establishing Hospital policies, procedures, standard orders, guidelines, and protocols that relate to the Pediatric Surgical Initiatives and the redress relate to noncompliance. -
- Model leadership related to patient care for Pediatric Surgical patients by understanding and utilizing contemporary pediatric surgical care, Sports Medicine & General Orthopedic care, ENT, Urological care guidelines as set forth by the American Academy of Pediatric surgeons.
