Summarized Purpose:

Leads the growth of laboratory operations by integrating operational processes, business development, research & development and quality assurance functions. Sets operating standards, forecasts and establishes operating budgets. Provides medical consultation, client support and resolution. Principle Investigator over in-house review board studies.

Key responsibilities:Provides medical consultation, client support and resolution.Principle Investigator over in-house review board studies.Provides operational leadership to laboratory services. Integrates operational processes, business development, research & development and quality assurance functions for optimal performance within the labs.Supports Business Development in obtaining new customers and maintaining relationships.Performs financial reviews, establishes operating budget and develops forecasts maximizing operating profit. Provides business updates to senior leadership.Sets operational standards/goals and directs the implementation of laboratory goals and policies. Oversees resource allocation including space, capital equipment, scientific instrumentation and staff.Performs administrative responsibilities including personnel development, writing SOPs and PDs.Oversees the quality assurance and quality control aspects of the lab to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Keys to Success

Education and Experience:

PhD, MD or DrPh requiredPrevious experience in leading multi-department clinical or analytical laboratories and developing and executing protocols (comparable to 15+years)Advanced leadership skills to include 10+ years of management responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of laboratory operations for pharmaceutical and biotech industriesProficient in analytical, bioanalytical or clinical chemistry platforms and methodologiesIn-depth knowledge of laboratory science, GxP, FDA and European regulations concerning relevant lab processes in drug development, method development, method validation, R&D, sample testing and data processingExcellent communication skills with ability to participate in business development activities, present capabilities and solutions to clients, respond to regulatory audits, prepare and present budgets/forecasts to senior managementExpertise in budgeting, forecasting and fiscal managementProven strategic planning skillsIn-depth global and cultural awarenessStrong organizational agility and demonstrated drive for resultsTrack record of building peer relationships and developing effective teams • Excellent coaching and mentoring skillsDetailed and process oriented, logical, but creative approach to problem solvingExcellent marketing and negotiation skills
