The Department of Emergency Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is accepting applications for our faculty position Medical Education Fellowship. Optimal candidates will have completed an emergency medicine residency and must be BC/BE in Emergency Medicine.
Overview
The Emergency Medicine Medical Education Fellowship at UT Health San Antonio is a 1 to 2 year advanced training program in medical education sponsored by the Department of Emergency Medicine. This fellowship is designed for emergency medicine residency graduates and provides the foundation for a career in academic medicine focused on graduate and undergraduate medical education, curriculum development, mentorship, simulation, and faculty development. The goal of the education fellowship is to successfully prepare the fellow to become a leader in academic emergency medicine education.
Structure
The fellowships begin July 1st and last one to two years. Dependent on the Fellowship Program, fellows will divide their time between educational training, projects and research, and clinical work in the Emergency Department.
Standard course is a one year program, though candidates seeking a Master’s Degree in Education can choose to remain for two years.
