Description
We are seeking a highly organized, friendly, and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate must have experience using Epic electronic medical records (EMR) software and extensive knowledge of insurance verification processes. You will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for creating a welcoming and efficient experience while ensuring smooth administrative operations at the front desk.
Responsibilities
+ Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly and manage check-ins/check-outs to provide an exceptional experience.
+ Scheduling: Utilize Epic EMR to schedule and update patient appointments efficiently.
+ Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, co-pays, and deductibles prior to appointments.
+ Records Management: Use Epic to maintain accurate patient records, update demographics, and ensure data is compliant with HIPAA regulations.
+ Billing Support: Assist with collecting payments, explaining billing information, and addressing insurance-related questions.
+ Communication: Answer phone calls professionally, responding to patient inquiries or directing them to the appropriate department.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with medical staff, billing departments, and other team members to ensure operational efficiency.
+ Administrative Duties: Handle general front desk tasks, such as managing emails, maintaining the office’s cleanliness, and ordering supplies.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience as a Front Desk Coordinator in a medical or clinical setting.
+ Proficiency with Epic EMR software is required.
+ Strong knowledge of insurance verification processes, including understanding Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), prior authorizations, co-pays, and deductibles.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with HIPAA regulations.
+ Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
