We are looking for a Medical Governance Lead Benelux who is collaborative, resilient and proactive to join us in our local medical team. This position can be based in Belgium or the Netherlands and will cover Benelux region.
About the role
The Medical Governance Lead ensures the highest standards of medical integrity and compliance across the Benelux countries. In your role it is important you have the oversight and take an advisory role, ensuring scientific and compliance accuracy in all materials and activities. You take leadership of overseeing UCB Cares and Medical Operations to ensure smooth and compliant operations. And drive initiatives that uphold ethical and industry standards, fostering a culture of integrity and excellence.
Who you will work with:
Working closely with the Ethics and Business Integrity lead and cross-functional teams to provide strategic guidance and ensure adherence to local laws and regulations. And acting as the right hand and backup for the Head of Medical Affairs Benelux in external community engagements.
What you’ll do
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Align with internal teams (commercial, medical, legal, regulatory, supply, compliance) to provide guidance on local regulations
• Governance: Ensure scientific integrity and act as the independent country signatory for all materials and activities requiring official approval
• Medical Clearance Oversight: Optimize local medical clearance processes to ensure quality and timely delivery
• Policy Development: Create and maintain medical governance policies and procedures
• Training and Education: Train staff on local laws, regulations, and medical governance policies
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to medical governance, UCB Cares, and medical operations
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
• Master’s degree: Physician, Pharmacist, or similar
• Certification: RIP certificate/number from Belgian Health Authorities (FAMHP).
• In-depth local and international laws and regulatory knowledge, strong scientific background, and expertise in medical affairs /compliances in pharma industry
• Local language: Dutch and or French and English
• Skilled in identifying, analyzing, assessing, and mitigating risks related to medical governance and operations
• Understanding of patient needs and ensuring patient-centric approaches in medical operations
• Proficiency in using digital tools for material clearance, training management, and project coordination
• Focused on finding practical and effective solutions/ problem solving mindset
• Capable of training and supporting staff on medical governance policies and procedures.
• Proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues
Due to upcoming holidays and festive season we will start the interview process from the 6th of January 2025 onwards
