What you will do:
The Breast Center Medical Imaging Assistant/attendant duties include:Compiling reports and exam paperwork; escorting patients to changing rooms; preparing cases for examination and for the radiologist to read; maintenance of patient waiting rooms, changing rooms and reading room; monitoring Radiologists progress in reading and maintaining flow process of patients through center; assisting Supervisor in general support duties for the center and staff. Transporting patients to OR when transportation aide is delayed.
Responsibilities:
PREPARING CASES FOR EXAMINATION DUTIES INCLUDE:
Verifying availability of previous films or images and reports for day’s work from film library. Checking Ultrasound schedule for same patient procedures.Retrieving exam requisitions from printer, entering data in mammography log.Escorting patients to changing areas, retrieving mammography data sheets and prescriptions.Prioritizing exams for technologists, according to patient arrival, appointment times,length of time waiting, urgency, etc.Maintaining inventory of clerical supplies/forms, etc. in mammo technologist work area related to patient log and exams.Keeping downtime log when systems are not operationalMAINTENANCE OF PATIENT WAITING ROOMS, CHANGING ROOMS AND READING ROOM DUTIES INCLUDE:
Keeping magazines distributed evenly throughout the rooms and straightening each waiting room at day’s end.Emptying and cleaning coffee pot and supplies at day’s end.Ensuring patient gowning areas are neat and well stocked throughout the day and that all hampers are emptied at noon (as needed)and day’s end daily (including US and interventional changing rooms).Checking linen cart daily and ensuring adequate linen stock in Breast Center closet.Checking inventory of all forms needed for reading room and updating as needed. Ensuring adequate supply of paper clips, pens,rulers, post-it notes and other regularly used clerical supplies in reading room.Delivering “call back” cases to technologist work area.ASSISTING COORDINATOR IN GENERAL TASKS:
Rounding in patient gowned areas to keep communication open between patients and staff.Letting the registrars know if the technologists are running behind so that the information can be communicated to patients arriving.Other tasks and duties as assigned.
What you will need:
HS DiplomaPay Range: $16.20 - $23.50
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
