The Coordinator assumes responsibility for the coordination of patient flow. Responsible for selected management functions related to the overall operations of the department, and in the absence of the department manager, overall responsibility for coordination of department functions, including supervision of clinical staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Directs the daily flow of Imaging patients, to include timely completion of procedures, and prompt patient turnaround
· Collaborates with supply chain management to develop and manage adequate supply pars for daily operations
· Supervises technologists, provides input to manager on employee performance, evaluates personnel as assigned
· Manages schedules and attendance records for technologists
· Coordinates development, distribution and return of employee competencies as required for annual evaluation and as needed to ensure safe delivery of care
· Continues to expand knowledge of Quality Improvement philosophy and principles and incorporates those elements into management practices
· Demonstrates successful communication with patients and understanding of patient needs in the assessment, treatment and/or care of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric
· Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures (as defined by documented competencies) in the absence of Diagnostic Imaging personnel or as required
· Manages and coordinates changes, upgrades, etc. to the Radiology Information System in conjunction with Informatics Dept.; ensures coordination of system changes with key individuals responsible for other hospital information system modules
· Assists with the testing of modalities upgrades
· Assists with acceptance, parallel testing and integrated testing as needed
· Participates in Imaging systems technical resolution
· Assists with the development and maintenance of imaging procedures to include procedure manuals, quality control, quality assurance and proficiency testing
· Acts as department lead in the absence of the Medical Imaging Manager
· Represents respective department as a leader, consultant, and participant in inter/departmental meetings and committees
· Performs additional duties and assignments as requested
· Accountable to the Medical Imaging Manager, and Director of Medical Imaging
· Accountable to the hospital staff, physicians and all customers for the efficient and responsive performance of the Coordinator duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Certified Technologist via successful completion of NYS registry exams (i.e. ARRT), or
· The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB, or
· Computed Tomography (CT) Certification (ARRT)
· Minimum of five years of Radiology Technology experience with supervisory experience preferred
SKILLS
· Proficient in use of Radiology Information Systems, personal computer, and associated applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and the like
· Interpersonal skills necessary to manage a diverse technical staff and to deal effectively with physicians, customers and hospital personnel at all levels
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information, employee information, and other matters of importance
· Current CPR certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITION
Medium work: requires standing, walking, pulling and lifting.
Pay Range: $37.60-51.75
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
