Job Description

As a Medical Lab Scientist I, you will be responsible for testing assigned specimens on the evening shift. You will follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results. You will also ensure proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens, analyze specimens using approved testing procedures, and review and release test results. Additionally, you will adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines and identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.

Responsibilities

Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.Maintain records that demonstrate proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.Review and release test results.Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.Follow laboratory policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within acceptable performance levels.Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, or notify the technologist or supervisor.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Chemistry, Laboratory, Clinical Laboratory, and CLIA procedures.Degree in Chemistry with 25+ credits in Chemistry courses including analytical and instrumental courses.1 year of clinical lab experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in medical laboratory processing.

Work Environment

This role is based in a very busy clinical lab environment with increasing volume. The position works Monday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM with rotational weekends. Employees receive a 10% shift differential for evening shifts. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $70720.00/yr.
