Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist IIJob Description We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Lab Scientist II to join our team. In this role, you will perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Responsibilities + Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. + Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. + Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. + Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. + Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. + Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. + Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. + Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. + Assist with processing of specimens when needed. + Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory CLIA State requirements. + Minimum 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience. + State Medical Technologist license may be required based on location. + ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required based on location. + Ability to work independently and within a team environment. + Proficient with computers. + High level of attention to detail. + Strong communication and organizational skills. + Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. Work Environment This role involves working in a clinical laboratory setting. The successful candidate will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain a safe work environment. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs is necessary. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
