We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. **Description** JOB DESCRIPTION: + With supervision, performs various laboratory procedures on patient specimens to assist in the diagnosis, study, treatment, or prevention of disease. + Calculates and reports results. + Performs preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment. + Evaluates the validity of test results by comparing them to previous results and other laboratory data. + Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient information, test results, and equipment operation. + Properly uses, performs preventive maintenance on, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment and instrument malfunctions. + Observes safety policies and procedures. + Analyzes patient specimens, prepares reagents, and assists in ordering and inventorying lab supplies. + Performs venipuncture and phlebotomy. + Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + An associate's degree in a Medical Laboratory Technician program OR 60 college semester hours which includes chemistry and 13 months of training in an AMA approved program OR two years of college and graduation from a 12 month military laboratory training program. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
