Job Description:
The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for accurate performance of laboratory tests that determine the presence, absence, or cause of disease.
A Medical Laboratory Technician must be able to conduct a full range of laboratory tests, from the most routine to the most complex, under direct supervision.
Medical Laboratory Technicians must be able to operate precision instruments and other complex laboratory equipment.
Requirements:
Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology
High school graduate or equivalent and successfully completed military training of 50 or more weeks and served as a medical laboratory specialist.
American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) certification within 12 months of employment required.
