Medical Lab Technician

Work Schedule: 

This is a part-time, FTE .80, 1st shift position. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday varying start times between 7:30am -9:00am, with varying end times of 4:00pm - 5:30pm. There also is a on call weekend rotation. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Pay:

External hires may be eligible for up to a $2,400 sign on bonus.

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Generalist  to:

Perform moderately complex diagnostic tests and limited high complexity testing. Perform preventative maintenance on select lab equipment or instruments. Perform troubleshooting on select laboratory equipment or instruments as a scientist. Promote culture of safety for patients through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.

Education:

Minimum – Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology. 

OR education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either: 

            • 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or

            • 24 semester hours of science courses

Preferred – Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science (biology)

Work Experience:

Preferred – One year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – 

Preferred – Certification Medical Laboratory Technician by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency
