Job Title: Medical Lab Technician
Job Description

Provide quality test results by operating general chemistry, performing manual methods, and operating other instrumentation available in the laboratory area. Analyze and organize work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling, sorting specimens, checking labeling, logging specimens, arranging reports for delivery, and keeping work surfaces clean and orderly. Responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained. Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and calibrating equipment using approved testing procedures. Process and test up to 1000 samples per shift. Work with blood and urine samples and perform necessary testing. Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Work Environment

The lab includes R&D, specimen receiving, chemistry, and microbiology. Office building with a call center, laboratory, and clerical center. Dress attire includes long pants, T-shirt, closed-toed shoes, and lab coats when handling specimens. Training hours are M-F, 6:30am/7am to 3:30pm/4pm. PM shift is 3pm-11:30pm M-F with rotating Saturdays.
