SUMMARY Performs various clinical laboratory tests in order to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Analyzes and interprets test results, and ensures accuracy of same. Repeats tests and necessary, especially those yielding abnormal or atypical results, and notifies appropriate personnel of such results. Provides quality patient care considering age specific, developmental, and cultural needs of the patient. Demonstrates unit/area designated competencies. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Requires Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology with ASCP or equivalent certification. Internship is required for certification. Able to work independently, good decision making and communications skills required. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. **REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND** **CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE** **Education:** Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, or university in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science. - May consider a bachelor’s degree in science with a combination of relevant work experience in a laboratory setting. Proof of educational transcripts must be submitted at time of application. Experience: Relevant work experience in a medical laboratory is preferred. **Certification/Licensure:** Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) – ASCP, or NCLS certification preferred.
