Medical Laboratory Scientist

Regions Hospital Core Laboratory is currently seeking a self-motivated, quality-focused Medical Lab Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Lab Scientist at Regions Hospital, you will join an innovative and collaborative group of professionals in our newly remodeled laboratory designed for ergonomics and workflow. Our team has also been engaged in developing our new laboratory information system designed to provide efficiency and patient safety.  Your work will support Regions Hospital as well as six other suburban hospitals and over twenty clinics in our network.

As part of our team, you will work as a generalist and float between different departments. You will perform specimen receiving at the front desk to high complex testing such as antibody ID, Antigen typing and other complex workups in Blood Bank to moderate to high complex automation line in Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology and Urinalysis. 

Work schedule: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly), Day/Evening Shift

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or other science   related field.  Advanced Degree or training (Masters in Sciences or Clinical Specialty) may substitute for preferred certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Clinical rotation in an approved program that qualifies for ASCP certification or equivalent.

Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification with ASCP or equivalent agency or eligible preferred
