Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The role involves receiving specimens, assessing specimen integrity, verifying labeling and documentation, complex specimen processing, reagent preparation, test performance, and reporting test results within the assigned area. You will perform all required quality control tasks to ensure the validity of test results, and maintain documentation regarding quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and handling of proficiency testing samples. Additionally, you will perform troubleshooting procedures, take corrective actions to ensure the validity of test results, and maintain documentation. Responsibilities + Receive specimens and assess specimen integrity. + Verify labeling and documentation. + Perform complex specimen processing and reagent preparation. + Conduct test performance and report test results. + Complete all required quality control tasks to ensure validity of test results. + Maintain documentation regarding quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and handling of proficiency testing samples. + Perform troubleshooting procedures and take corrective actions to ensure validity of test results. + Maintain necessary documentation throughout all procedures. Essential Skills + Proficiency in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Cellular Therapy. + 2-3 years of experience as a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. + MT, MLS, CLS certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Transfusion experience preferred. + Experience in laboratory management. Work Environment You will be working in the main HQ building and joining a team of 15 other lab personnel. The schedule for this position is Saturday - Wednesday from 11pm to 7am.
