Ensures accurate and timely analysis of specimens using various laboratory techniques to ensure positive specimen identification while maintaining proper documentations.
Performs testing of laboratory specimens (pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical) according to established laboratory policies and procedures.
Collaborates with laboratory management to develop and update standard operating procedures to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous improvement in specimen processing.
Monitors and troubleshoots equipment and testing processes, promptly addressing technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain reliable laboratory operations.
Supports the training and onboarding of new technologists to facilitate their integration into the team and ensuring consistent competency evaluations to uphold high standards of performance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science.
EXPERIENCE:Required: Four years of laboratory experience in a high complexity laboratory in designated specialty or subspecialty.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Must have Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) pr Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB) or Technologist in Blood Banking (BB) or Technologist in Chemistry (C) or Technologist in Hematology (H) or Technologist in Microbiology (M) or Specialist in Microbiology (SM) by ASCP
