Medical Laboratory Technician
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician Job Description Performs clinical testing in at least two of the following departments: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. Staff who work second or third shifts must be competent in all areas mentioned above. Receives specimens, performs clinical testing, understands method principles, performs quality controls and instrument maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. Responsibilities + Perform clinical testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. + Receive specimens and perform clinical testing. + Understand method principles and perform quality controls. + Maintain instruments and interpret results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. Essential Skills + MLT + ASCP + AMT + Microbiology + Biology + Hematology + Bachelor's Degree + Experience in Microbiology + Eligibility for AMT or ASCP certification within the year Additional Skills & Qualifications + Accurate performance and collection of tests while maintaining patient confidentiality. + Reasoning ability and good independent judgment. + Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. + Strong communication skills. + Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, and/or holidays. + Ability to work under stress and contribute to the team environment.
