Medical Laboratory Technician
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Opportunity to work with one of the fastest-growing laboratories in the country. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will process lab specimens including human body fluids, tissues, clinical specimens, and microbiological isolates to ensure accurate and quality results for patient care. You will also assist in various areas throughout the core lab and adapt to a changing environment with new instruments and testing methods for the growing volume.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure quality control procedures are performed and documented per lab policy.Identify and resolve QC or equipment issues.Understand and use current medical terminology to perform a full range of laboratory testing and communicate effectively with medical staff.Perform or learn microbiological testing.Test samples using molecular analysis, serological analysis, isolation, and identification of microorganisms or their antigens/nucleic acids.Evaluate, interpret, and validate lab results and report findings.Maintain an inventory of lab supplies and order as needed to ensure testing needs are met.Assist in the preparation of epidemiology and/or statistical reports from data compiled on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis.Maintain competency in all trained areas.Perform related work as required.Maintain a working knowledge of laboratory computer systems.Essential SkillsExperience in biochemistry, PCR testing, DNA extraction, and purification.Experience in medical laboratory testing.Eligibility for ASCP and/or AMT certification.Experience working in CLIA and/or CAP certified laboratories.Additional Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience with DxI and DxC or Abbott Alinity H analyzers (preferred but not required).Experience in wet lab, pipetting, clinical laboratory, chemistry, and hematology.BSL2 environment experience with exposure to medical regulations and SOPs.Experience working with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science or Clinical Lab Science with 0-1 years of experience.Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology with 6 months-1 year of experience.ASCP or AMT certification in MLS/MLT/CLS/MT (Candidates must be eligible to sit for certification within 1 year of employment).Work Environment

You will work in the core lab department, primarily in chemistry. The working hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6:30pm or 9am-7:30pm if working 10 hours. There is the possibility of rotating weekends

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr.
