Medical Laboratory Technologist
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist Job Description We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team! In this role you will assess the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria and perform routine and complex technical procedures in hematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology, and the blood bank. You will monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality, make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving, and prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Accurate and timely test results reporting is essential to deliver quality patient care. You will perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures, identify and replenish testing bench supplies, assist with processing specimens when needed, and maintain a safe work environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Qualifications + MLT, CLS, MT, or MLS ASCP Certification + Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science + Bachelor Degree preferred + 2 years of experience in blood bank preferred Soft Skills + Technical decision-making + Problem-solving + Attention to detail Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Austin, Texas. Work Environment The role involves working in a high-volume hospital environment.
