The Medical Manager is a strategic, expert-level role within Roche Ireland that demands deep therapeutic area knowledge, strong business acumen, and the ability to operate effectively at an enterprise level across our portfolio. This role is vital for delivering impactful activities that contribute to patient access and improved outcomes while maintaining Roche’s commitment to high ethical standards.

The Opportunity

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute initiatives aimed at accelerating patient access and achieving positive health outcomes.

Identify unmet medical needs within clinical practices and leverage these insights to inform local outcomes-based strategic plans.

Serve as the internal expert for information and resources within assigned therapeutic areas, managing related internal and external activities, and overseeing the local material workflow.

Ensure seamless communication between global development teams and Roche Ireland, facilitating training and timely information flow to prepare for local activities.

Provide expert input for local portfolio prioritization and contribute to the strategic decision-making process.

Steward Roche’s assets responsibly on a local level and engage with the external community in an ethical, compliant, and balanced manner.

Act as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders, representing the Roche portfolio with integrity.

Create work packages and coordinate with internal and external experts as necessary to support strategic objectives.

Uphold high ethical standards and ensure compliance with Roche policies, the Roche Group Code of Conduct, the Quality Management System, and the IPHA Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Your Profile

You have a healthcare professional qualification or postgraduate scientific degree, as well as previous experience as a medical manager or in medical affairs. Experience within the Irish market is advantageous.

You have a strong understanding of the drug development process within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Previous industry experience is preferred.

Experience in designing and implementing clinical trials, along with proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance assessment is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to write clinical publications and deliver scientific presentations; established relationships with external TAEs, thought leaders, and organisations are preferred.

Comprehensive knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, local regulations, and the ability to work effectively in diverse, multifunctional teams.

Solid understanding of drug discovery and commercialisation processes
