As product and therapy area expert, the Medical Manager Oncology exists to provide non-promotional, medical support that helps to ensure the safe and effective use of GSK’s oncology portfolio in the 16 countries in the Partnership Markets Area. Key responsibilities will include: Provide authoritative opinion on medical and scientific matters to support colleagues across the GSK PM Team, as well as our Third-party Partners in the countries, enabling the evidence-based use of GSK medicines (in compliance with the relevant local statutory requirements). Use specialist knowledge of product, therapy area, clinical practice and care pathways in the Partnership Markets, insights from external stakeholders, etc. to engage in effective scientific exchange which adds value to internal and external stakeholders and to at all times put the patient at the heart of GSK's decision making. Co-ordinate and utilise specialist knowledge with brand-aligned colleagues in formulating and implementing short and long term medical strategic plans: accountable for the Medical Strategy for the assigned products In collaboration with Commercial and Market Access colleagues, utilise specialist product and therapy area knowledge to formulate and implement effective national and local market access strategic plans and tender submissions (as applicable). Support the Third-party Partners to execute the Market Access (and Medical Operational Plans if applicable) in the countries. Develop new medical affairs communication and training materials under the appropriate approval framework. Work in partnership with R&D clinical development and central and regional partner functions, to optimise the clinical development plans in support of a robust file and life cycle strategy. Ensuring that non-promotional activities and materials in the Oncology Therapy Area are implemented in a manner that is compliant with GSK’s Code of Practice and the associated written standards (including ABAC). Basic Qualifications: Advanced Degree (in life sciences and/or public health) Prior pharmaceutical industry experience, acquired through global or Regional/Local Medical Affairs or non-Medical Affairs relevant functional areas is a strong asset Interaction experience with external experts (EE’s), governmental officials or advocacy groups Ability to develop and review independently new materials based on strategy, core evidence documents and communication strategy Experience with review & approval processes in a highly regulated setting Fluency in English Preferred Qualifications: MD or PhD in Life Sciences Ability to interpret (pre-)clinical, epidemiological, health outcomes, and real-world data and translate this into patient benefits Relevant experience oncology and/or haematology Experience in organising activities involving External Experts (e.g. scientific symposia or CME meetings) Why GSK?
