Medical Office Assistant

Job Summary:
+ Prepare patients for medical evaluation, including but not limited to: obtaining vital signs; updating medical, surgical, and social history; reviewing and updating allergies and medications; and utilizing the EPIC medical record system appropriately.
+ Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG, Spirometry, Audiometry, Dynamometry, Phlebotomy, Urine Collection, Snellen Eye Examinations, and Hemoccult as needed.
+ Prepare charts for patient visits, including abstraction of charts, and printing test results when available.
+ Conduct pre-visit assessments.
+ Monitor information releases received from patients, ensuring that outside records are received in a timely manner.
+ Oversee maintenance of medical equipment, including calibration, battery checks, refrigeration temperature monitoring, maintaining sufficient clinical supplies, and monitoring expiration dates of various clinical supplies.
+ Provide support for phone and office reception services.
+ Assist with front-end administrative duties, including but not limited to checking patients in and out of the office.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or 3 years experience directly related to the medical field; current CPR/BLS certification; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with phlebotomy, EPIC medical record system, and patient communications.
Work Days:
8:30am-4:30pm Mon-Wed
