Medical Office Assistant
MEDICAL ASSISTANT OPENING WITH Connecticut's Largest Healthcare Organization M-F NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS Job Description As a member of the patient care team, you will assist providers and nursing staff with daily office duties. These duties include answering phones, responding to patient messages, patient call-backs, assisting providers, referrals, scheduling, and handling prior authorizations. Responsibilities + Answer phones and respond to patient messages + Conduct patient call-backs + Assist providers with daily tasks + Handle referrals and scheduling + Manage prior authorizations + Perform insurance verification + Educate patients as needed + Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Essential Skills + Experience using EMR systems + Knowledge of medical terminology + Patient education + Insurance verification + Appointment scheduling + Customer service + Data entry + Administrative support Additional Skills & Qualifications + 6+ months of experience is mandatory + High school diploma + EPIC experience preferred + Positive attitude and mindset + Initiative to get work done + Effective communication skills Work Environment This role is within an internal medicine office. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM, and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The organization offers opportunities for growth, including transfers and promotions into managerial roles. EPIC experience is highly valued. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
