Medical Office Assistant - Quality Care

Conemaugh Physician Group is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant for CPG Administration. The MOA is responsible for helping providers and staff to report and optimize their Value Based Payment Quality Measures (Medicare, Highmark, UPMC and other Commercial Payers) required measures.

*Responsibilities: *
Develop and maintain relationship with dedicated providers and staff.
Collaborate with and maintain relationships with peers within the Clinically Integrated Network.
Participate in periodic educational events for providers and their staff re: CMS rules, annual Quality Workshop, monthly CIN calls, and monthly
manager meetings.
Maintain workflow based educational material for MA’s and Providers – describing what they need to do to meet the measure.
For all new Providers and Staff (MA’s), provide an overview of the APLH data base and EHR workflow, and specifically how to use the system to
ensure that the measures are properly captured.
Checks data bases for GAPS in care and assists in offices to close GAPS.
Checks Insurance reports/MIPS reports prior to patients coming for office visits
Communicates to providers and support staff which GAPS need to be closed.
Follow up with Emergency room discharges and hospital discharge calls
Insurance forms/prep (HCC, UDC etc.…)
Encourage all patients to sign up for MY CHART
Participate in annual development of the location specific Quality Program Work plan, including timeframes and responsibilities for key events.
Throughout the year conduct and document Value Based Quality audits, ensuring that the data collected on an interim basis (in the dashboards)
accurately reflects provider workflows.
Summarize and report the audit results to requested parties.
On a random basis, by Provider, by Measure, monthly “audit” workflow, a sample of transactions, comparing the dashboard results to what’s
reflected in the EHR: for Met conditions, Exclusions and Not Met conditions.
Review reported Quality results, identifying at the provider level those with high, low and average performance rates.
Identify Providers and staff that should be targeted for optimization report.
For the targeted providers/staff, develop an understanding of their workflows and use of the EHR as it relates to the reportable measures.
At a provider level, diagnose the root cause(s) behind lower than desired performance rates.
The action plans may include: Provider/MA Education on the measures, Provider/MA Education re: Workflows and how to use the EHR to
capture the data necessary to support measures, IT /build changes necessary to deal with items such as exclusions, etc.
Manage and implement the changes necessary to close measure performance gaps
Review reported “program” results, determine whether the implemented changes had the expected result.
Serve as the “Tier 1 Help Desk” for Providers and Staff program questions.
Provide periodic status reporting to Management.
Provide weekly /Monthly reporting to Management – Director Clinical Services.
Provide weekly /Monthly reporting to Providers and their staff.

*Required: *
High School graduate or equivalent.
**Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant Program or CNA program or appropriate on the job training in a medical office setting.
*Preferred: *Epic Trained.
*Experience:*
*Required: *
Two years’ experience in a physician office setting. Individual must have strong clinical skills, be proficient with medical terminology.
**Excellent typing and computer skills.**
*Certification/Licensure/Registration:*
*Required:*CPR certificate or acquired within 2 months of hire.
*Preferred:*Medical Assistant Certification.**
