The role you’ll contribute: The Office Assistant/Patient Biller represents the practice in the coordination of all patient/physician encounters. This position is responsible for making certain that the physician’s time is appropriately utilized and patient’s needs are met. This position is also responsible for performing receptionist/clerical duties. These duties are to be performed with a minimum of supervision for patients of adult and geriatric ages.

· Is primarily responsible for answering the telephone following established procedures.

· Answers pleasantly using appropriate greeting

· Takes detailed appropriate messages

· Delivers messages in a timely manner to appropriate person. Provides the patient chart to the physician for reference.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred qualifications:

A minimum of one year experience in a medical setting with coding, charge entry and payment collection.

CPR certification

Computer Proficiency

Knowledge of small office equipment; copier/fax/calculator
