RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops techniques used to standardize and calibrate imaging and therapy equipment.
• Recommends therapeutic and radiation safety procedures for patient care.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity, reaching below shoulder.
• Continuous: sitting.
• Frequent: standing, walking, stooping/bending.
• Operates word processing equipment, treatment planning computer workstation, radiation measurement equipment and other work related equipment.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Maybe exposed to radiation.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Master’s degree or doctorate in physics, medical physics, or related field.
• State of Hawaii license in Radiation Service or licensed under The Queen's Medical Center facility.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Four (4) years experience as a medical physicist in a Radiation Therapy or Diagnostic Imaging setting.
• Experience to demonstrate ability to plan Brachytherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT).
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience highly desirable.
