Job Description Summary:

<h2><b>Overview</b></h2><div><div><div><p>Responsible for the delivery and repair of all products and equipment, with emphasis on respiratory and related products. Responsible for delivery of Medical Center Infusion Services supplies and equipment as needed. Responsible for service, repair, and follow-up of home oxygen equipment. Maintains inventory and all paperwork associated with these duties. Under the general supervision of the Delivery Tech Manager, responsible for an assigned shift. Responsibilities include knowledge of all respiratory products, nebulizers, CPAP, apnea monitors, feeding pumps, CPMs, and low air loss units, pneumatic compressors, ambulatory aids, diabetics products, lift chairs, wheelchairs, hospital beds, MCIS supplies, and medical supplies. Responsible for set-up, instruction, delivery, follow-up, and pick-up of equipment and supplies. Will work closely with the Respiratory Therapists on staff to ensure quality patient care. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.</p></div></div></div>

Responsibilities

Responsible for set-up, instruction, delivery, follow-up, and pickup of equipment/MCIS supplies and equipment.
Ability to take on-call as required and perform without direct supervision.
Assessing the home environment for safety concerns.
Responsible for as needed routine maintenance, service, and follow-up of respiratory products, monitors, and all another home medical equipment.
Responsible for the cleaning and storage of respiratory equipment, and all other equipment as needed.
Responsible for training/education of patients/family members on the use of equipment, safety, care and maintenance and evaluation of return demonstration of use.
Responsible for completion of patient files including instructions, with signatures, in a timely manner.
Reviews patient responsibility and all paperwork with the patient.
Responsible for going to the hospital and getting stock from the warehouse, pharmacy and Central Services and other areas as requested.
Delivery of products to the patient's room in the hospital and educating the patient on use, safety, etc.
when ordered for delivery before the patient goes home.
Responsible for maintaining that the delivery vehicles are clean and properly stocked and in good working order.
Responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures related to vehicles.
Hours will vary.
Must be willing to work until all daily business is completed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School diploma or the equivalent.  
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: Certification and attendance in continuing education classes in apnea monitors, oxygen concentrators and wheelchair service school preferred. Valid TN driver's license, safe driving record and proof of auto liability insurance.  
EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in all areas of home medical equipment operations and ability to demonstrate such preferred. Knowledge of Medicare and TennCare regulations as applicable to the billing and Reimbursement system of a Home Medical Equipment agency as required through a minimum of 2 years experience in the DME business preferred. Knowledge of all types of durable medical equipment preferred; also knowledge of joining commission standards as they relate to home care preferred.
