Job SummaryDirects and maintains accountability for complex, multi-faceted programs. Provides administrative support through the appropriate use of software and/or other tools. Exhibits initiative and knowledge to assure operations carry on in the usual manner in management's absence.
Essential FunctionsInitiates and supports the provider application process by sending, receiving, and analyzing provider documents and data import to determine completeness in preparation for the credential's verification process.Responsible for gathering, verifying and evaluating highly confidential and sensitive healthcare provider credentials consistent with departmental guidelines and accreditation standards.Efficiently performs all aspects of credentialing verification, including appointment and reappointment to ensure current credentials and timely handoff and/or review and approval of provider files.Responsible for accurate data entry to ensure the integrity of credentialing information in applicable database(s).Collaborates with Participating Medical Staff Offices, Department Directors and/or external agencies to facilitate and ensure smooth handoff during the credentialing process.Uses critical thinking skills to conduct follow-up with individual providers and internal and external entities to resolve discrepancies identified during the credentialing process.Actively participates in team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve work product quality and efficiency.Shared responsibility for reviewing, processing and distributing incoming correspondence from CVO email and fax.QualificationsRequired
