Medical Receptionist, Full-Time Days

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for performing office duties, record keeping functions, and receptionist duties, administrative and follow-up functions in order to assist in the operation of a medical office. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Maintain a team of outpatient clinical and medical schedules using computer and manual methods. + Liaison between client registration and clinicians with scheduling follow-up appointments and psychiatric evaluations. + Answer the secretarial support line and managing appointments or triaging to appropriate other staff to manage the call. + Take payments and check clients in for appointments. Reschedule all medical appointments and others as requested. + Maintain clinical and medical caseloads. Monitor for inactivity and accuracy. + Review previous day’s schedules to facilitate no show letters are completed, medical staff appointments are coded as indicated on the superbills, and that all services for the clinical team are marked ready to complete. + Review medical charts for next day services to ensure all information is ready for medical staff. + Type correspondence, memos, or other project assignments as requested. PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours at time). Requires continual use of fingers for patient care, writing and computer entry. Routinely uses upper extremities; occasional requirement to lift up to 25 pounds. Occasionally push cart with supplies up to 30 pounds. Occasionally push wheelchair with patient weighing up to 325 pounds. Regularly requires ability to stoop, bend and reach above shoulder level. Requires ability to hear normal conversation and good general, near and peripheral vision. EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree or graduate of accredited medical assistant/administrative training program preferred. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year experience in the healthcare field required. Computer proficiency, organizational skills, f lexibility in meeting multiple demands in fast paced work environment required.
