Medical Receptionist
Description We are offering an opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in the Healthcare located in Berkeley, California. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing excellent service, handling patient inquiries, and ensuring the efficient running of the office. Responsibilities: • Greet patients and guests with a detail oriented, friendly demeanor • Handle incoming telephone calls, screening and directing as necessary • Provide exceptional customer service, answering routine inquiries and forwarding complex ones to the relevant personnel • Coordinate patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate verification of demographics and updates to insurances • Schedule follow-up appointments and audit existing ones for accuracy • Verify commercial insurance eligibility and benefits for patients • Process authorizations for HMO and Medicare office visits • Maintain a clean and comfortable waiting area, restocking magazines and water cups as necessary • Carry out a range of clerical and reception duties to support the smooth running of the office. If you are interested in this role, please call us at (510) 470-7450 Requirements • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the Healthcare/NHS industry. • Proficient in performing receptionist duties such as answering calls, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records. • Strong knowledge and experience in patient scheduling to ensure smooth workflow. • Familiarity with medical billing procedures to ensure accurate patient invoicing. • Holds a Coding Certificate or equivalent qualification. • Proven experience in medical coding, specifically in ICD-10 for accurate record keeping. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals. • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality in handling sensitive patient information. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. • Must be detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy. • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other related healthcare software.
