Description
We are in search of a Medical Receptionist to join our team in Long Beach, California. Your role will involve managing various administrative tasks to keep our medical practice running smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing excellent service while handling their inquiries and maintaining their records. This job offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Warmly welcome patients and act as their first point of contact, ensuring a positive experience.
• Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, collecting and verifying personal, medical, and insurance information accurately.
• Respond to patient inquiries promptly, both in-person and via phone or email, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
• Address patient concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel as necessary.
• Efficiently schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal time utilization.
• Update and maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Process patient payments, including co-pays and outstanding balances, while explaining our billing policies.
• Manage office communication, including mailing or emailing patient reminders and follow-up information.
• Maintain a clean and organized front office and waiting area.
• Manage incoming calls effectively, redirecting them to the appropriate staff or physician.
• Assist healthcare staff with administrative tasks, such as preparing documents or retrieving patient records.
Requirements
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting
• Proficiency in using EHR System is required
• Proven experience in answering inbound calls in a detail oriented and efficient manner
• Familiarity with patient registration processes and procedures
• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on patient satisfaction
• Experience in medical insurance verification, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of handling copays and understanding of medical billing processes
• Prior experience in patient scheduling, demonstrating organization and attention to detail
