Description
We are seeking a professional and efficient Medical Receptionist to join our team in Long Beach. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the medical office. Exceptional multitasking skills, a strong customer service mindset, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role. Prior experience in a similar position at a doctor’s office is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Greet patients and visitors with a welcoming and professional demeanor, providing an excellent first impression.
+ Answer a high volume of phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage inquiries with accuracy and courtesy.
+ Verify patient information, including insurance details, and ensure accurate data entry into the electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
+ Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
+ Coordinate with medical staff to manage patient flow and maintain an organized schedule.
+ Process payments, set up billing information, and provide general administrative support as needed.
+ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
+ Assist in resolving patient concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
+ Execute clerical duties such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
Requirements
+ Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus. Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records (e.g., Cerner, Epic) is highly valued
+ Strong organizational and multitasking abilities — able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients, staff, and third parties.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and EMR systems is preferred.
+ Attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy under pressure.
+ A customer-centric attitude with a commitment to delivering quality service.
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
